Unwittingly united in grief by a closet affair, a German baker and weary Israeli widow seek mutual catharsis. After the death of his lover, Oran, a married Israeli businessman, Thomas heads to Israel, the birthplace of this man he adored. Despite prejudice because of his German origins, he becomes the pastry chef at a local café owned by Anat, the unsuspecting widow of the deceased Oran. As business flourishes, the bereaved pair forge a bond that blurs lines of nationality, religion or sexuality. Anat hardly suspects that the unnamed sorrow that connects her to the stranger is for one and the same man.
